Ad Statuses & Lifecycle

Every ad creative in AdFuz has an assigned lifecycle status that determines whether it is eligible to be fetched, rotated, and rendered on the frontend.

The 4 Lifecycle States

Status	Badge	Serving Behavior	Use Case
Active	● Active	Live & Serving. Included in rotation algorithms and campaign delivery pools.	Active promotions, live client campaigns, running banners.
Paused	● Paused	Suspended. Temporarily excluded from ad spaces without losing campaign mapping.	Out-of-stock products, seasonal pauses, budget pacing hold.
Pending	● Pending	Queued. Ready for deployment but awaiting admin review or start time.	Pre-scheduled campaigns, compliance reviews.
Draft	● Draft	Offline. Incomplete creative setup, missing target URL or media assets.	Work in progress, creative testing.

Filtering Ads by Status

In the Ads management screen (/wp-admin/admin.php?page=adfuz-ads), you can quickly segment creatives:

Method 1: Using Status Counter Cards

Click any of the top summary counter pills:

• Total: 30 (Displays all creatives)
• Active: 30 (Filters exclusively live ads)
• Paused: 0
• Pending: 0
• Draft: 0

Method 2: Using the Filter Dropdown

1. Select a status from the All Statuses dropdown.
2. (Optional) Enter a search query in Search ads….
3. Click the blue Filter button.

How to Change an Ad’s Status

1. Go to AdFuz > Ads.
2. Click the Edit (Pencil) icon next to the target ad.
3. Scroll to the Status dropdown at the bottom of the right panel.
4. Select the new state (e.g. switch from Draft to Active).
5. Click Update Ad. The change takes effect instantly across all connected ad spaces and campaigns.

Real-Time Rotation Updates

When you change an ad’s status to Paused, AdFuz’s rotation engine immediately redistributes impressions across the remaining active creatives mapped to that campaign without causing blank spaces.
